Mission

The mission of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy is to provide integrated clinical education and training that enables students to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to practice clinical pharmacy, take an active part in the medical team, develop scientific research and treatment protocols, and provide drug education to patients and the community.

About the Department

The Department of Clinical Pharmacy at the College of Pharmacy, Al-Nahrain University, is one of the distinguished academic departments dedicated to qualifying clinical pharmacists who can collaborate with the medical team to improve treatment outcomes. The program spans several academic years and focuses on clinical pharmacy, applied therapeutics, pharmacovigilance, communication skills, pharmacy ethics, pharmacoeconomics and hospital training. The department qualifies its graduates to work in hospitals, clinics and community pharmacies, as well as in pharmaceutical companies, university teaching and scientific research, in line with the needs of modern healthcare and the pharmacist’s role within the therapeutic team.

Program Objectives

Graduate clinical pharmacists qualified to work within the medical team, improve the quality of healthcare and reduce medication errors.

Qualify specialized clinical pharmacy staff who can conduct research, develop treatment protocols, monitor the occurrence of side effects and find suitable solutions for them.

Direct scientific research toward advancing clinical pharmacy, improving patient outcomes and strengthening a culture of rational medicine use.

Prepare pharmacists who can provide drug education to the community and follow up patients in specialized clinics.

Academic Program Description
