The International Scientific Conference of the College of Pharmacy

The College of Pharmacy at Al-Nahrain University concluded the activities of the second day of its Second International Scientific Conference, held under the theme “From Knowledge to Practice… Pharmaceutical Education That Makes an Impact,” with distinguished scientific attendance and active engagement from faculty members, researchers, and students.

📌 The sessions of the second day included discussions of submitted research papers and posters, in addition to specialized lectures addressing professional and practical aspects in the pharmaceutical field. This reflects the college’s orientation toward linking education with the labor market and enhancing graduates’ readiness.

📌 In this context, the conference received (63) research papers, of which (18) were accepted for publication in Scopus-indexed outlets, along with (19) accepted scientific posters and (12) papers selected for oral presentation. It also included the discussion of fifth-year students’ graduation projects, reflecting the College Council’s confidence in students’ capabilities and their role in advancing scientific research.

📌 The second day featured two specialized lectures. The first was delivered by pharmacist Dr. Ihsan Al-Naqeeb, titled “Pharmaceutical Media,” which addressed the importance of this field in shaping graduates’ career paths. He highlighted key skills required in the job market, methods for gaining practical experience, and strategies for building a strong professional identity as a pharmacist. The lecture witnessed notable engagement from fifth-year students, who expressed their benefit from its practical and guidance-oriented content.

📌 The second lecture was part of a series of training workshops aimed at developing professional skills among fifth-year students. The workshop, titled “Who Are You Beyond Your Degree? Mindset, Skills & Career Identity,” was delivered by Dr. Omar Mohammed Ahmed, Dr. Noor Sabah, and Assistant Lecturer Ali Qasim Jawad. It focused on building professional identity, developing mindset and leadership skills, and enhancing graduates’ added value in the job market, empowering students to confidently shape their career paths.

The organization of these activities underscores the College of Pharmacy’s commitment at Al-Nahrain University to advancing its educational system and strengthening the integration between theoretical knowledge and practical application, thereby preparing qualified pharmacists capable of making a meaningful impact in society.
