In a scientific achievement that reflects the long-term impact of rigorous academic research, the Dean of the College of Pharmacy at Al-Nahrain University, Professor Dr. Haider Bahaa Sahib, announced that the research project based on his master’s thesis has successfully passed Phase III clinical trials after more than twenty years of continuous research and development.
Phase III clinical trials are considered one of the most critical stages in the drug development process, as they evaluate the efficacy and safety of a treatment in a large patient population according to strict scientific and regulatory standards before registration and marketing.
The clinical study demonstrated positive outcomes regarding improvements in patients’ quality of life and reductions in certain treatment-related side effects among the participants, highlighting the scientific and practical value of the research project and opening promising prospects for the completion of subsequent regulatory and research procedures.
Professor Dr. Haider Bahaa Sahib stated that this achievement is the result of cumulative scientific efforts spanning more than two decades. The project began as a master’s research endeavor and evolved through multiple stages of research, development, and clinical evaluation. He also praised the significant contributions of the professors, researchers, and specialists who participated in this scientific work.
This success underscores the importance of investing in scientific research and translating academic outcomes into practical applications, contributing to pharmaceutical innovation and strengthening the role of academic and research institutions in developing scientific solutions that support healthcare systems and serve patients.
