The University Psychological Counseling Unit at the College of Pharmacy – Al-Nahrain University, in cooperation with the Human Rights Unit and the Women’s Empowerment Unit, organized a scientific seminar titled “The Importance of Pharmacists in Psychiatry,” held in the postgraduate hall.

The seminar was attended by a distinguished group of faculty members, students, and staff, as part of efforts to enhance scientific and professional awareness of the vital role pharmacists play in supporting mental health.

The seminar was delivered by Dr. Buri Jameel Saif Al-Din, who highlighted the importance of integration between pharmacy and psychiatry, as well as the pharmacist’s role in monitoring pharmacological treatments for psychiatric patients. She also emphasized the importance of promoting safe use of psychotropic medications and minimizing their side effects.

🎯 Objective:
The seminar aimed to strengthen the understanding of students and healthcare professionals regarding the pharmacist’s role in the mental healthcare system, and to develop skills related to handling psychotropic medications, thereby improving the quality of healthcare services provided to patients.

This event comes as part of the College of Pharmacy’s ongoing efforts to support scientific and awareness activities that serve the community and enhance the knowledge level of its students and staff.
