The Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences at the College of Pharmacy – Al-Nahrain University, in cooperation with the University Psychological Counseling Unit and the Women’s Affairs Unit, organized a scientific seminar titled “Water Pollution in the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers: Reality and Solutions.” The seminar was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Amal Ismail and attended by a number of faculty members, staff, and students of the college.
The seminar aimed to highlight the issue of water pollution in the Tigris and Euphrates rivers and its health and environmental impacts, as well as to introduce the main sources of pollution and their effects on public health and water quality.
The seminar discussed the most significant chemical and biological pollutants threatening water resources, in addition to addressing environmental challenges associated with increasing industrial pollutants and wastewater discharge. It also presented several scientific proposals to reduce this phenomenon and enhance public awareness of the importance of protecting water resources.
The seminar witnessed active engagement from attendees through questions and scientific discussions, contributing to raising environmental and health awareness among students and the wider community.
